OTTAVIO GREGORICH Born March 20, 1903 and Died in of June 1978

Ottavio Gregorich fled Trieste around WW1 at the request of his mother.  He had 1 sister that he left behind who became deaf as a result of some kind of bombing.

My grandfather always considered himself Austrian since Trieste was part of Austria when he was born. He could speak and write in 5 languages.  He came to this country as a pot scrubber and small time cook on a cruise ship (Trieste was at that time was a big cruise ship port for that part of Europe). Later he "jumped" ship and started working as a cook in local eateries and became a U.S. citizen. He retired many years after he was a pastry Chef at Washington DC's Mayflower Hotel.  He was very proud of his work there.  He had a wall in his house covered with photos of him serving politicians and movie stars.  While in the U.S. he gave birth to my uncle Ottavio Gregorich, Jr., my father, Charles (Carl) Royce Gregorich and my Aunt, Elizebeth Gregorich (McCutchen). He died of Lou Gerags disease in 1978.

OTTAVIO GREGORICH JR. Born July 10, 1929 and Died in March 1968

Ottavio Gregorich Jr grew up in Washington D.C. and later moved to Anne Arundle County in Maryland. He died in a car crash on St. Patricks Day night. He had 4 children, all girls.

CHARLES ROYCE GREGORICH Born June 23, 1931 and Died March 19, 1999

Son of Ottavio Gregorich Sr., Charles lived in Chesapeake Beach, Maryland and had 2 sons, Carl and Dino. After dying in March of 1999, his ashes were scattered in the Chesapeake Bay not far from his home.

CARL GREGORICH Born September 25, 1959 and Died December 16, 1992

Son of Charles Royce Gregorich, Carl was born in Washington D.C. where he grew up. He later moved to Shenandoah Valley, Virginia where he had a daughter. He died in a car crash 9 days before Christmas and is buried in Stanley, Virginia.

DINO OTTAVIO GREGORICH Born

Son of Charles Royce Gregorich, Dino was born in Washington D.C. and currently lives in Manassas, Virginia. He has 2 children; Anthony and Danielle.
